After graduating with an Arts degree in Economics from Tribhuvan University, Mrs. Sabitri Shrestha started getting involved first in travel and tour career in taking care of customers visiting Nepal from many countries. She has handled many groups. She has specialized in developing tour package based on incentive schemes for both budget and luxury tourists as well.
At the IGC, she looks after financial management, internal audit and compliance and playing the leading role as a director in the entire sector of micro finances. In her capacity as the managing director of San Sui Cooperatives and Investment Company, a sister company within the IGC, Mrs. Shrestha has been successful enough to give it a rapid growth by inspiring many cooperative members to make micro investments under the IGC’s cooperative movement.
Her service for the last 15 years in the field of travel and tour trade has been making significant contribution to Nepal’s tourism. The managerial skill she applies in micro finances has contributed to generating income for less-income earners by encouraging them to invest for better future. According to Mrs. Shrestha, investment at micro level will enhance rural tourism where San Sui Cooperatives will pay its attention in future.
