Schooled in Darjeeling, a hilly station in India, known as a centre of educational excellence since the British rule to date, and graduated from Kolkata’s university in Economics, Mrs. Manju Lama opted her career in tourism related business with a focus on tour administration and market exploration in Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet. At the IGC, she specializes in managing special incentive tour packages for groups from different countries in accordance with the interests, needs and cultural backgrounds of the customers. Her skills in managing MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) Tourism have earned her reputation amongst stakeholders. Developing, negotiating and operating tour packages for Incentive Travels and Tours to the customers’ full satisfaction has been her focus in her appreciable role at the IGC. She also takes interest in designing tour packages for people practicing different religions like Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity and Islam.
Mrs. Lama played an instrumental role, among many others, in the overall management of a 20-day Hindu pilgrimage tour in the summer of 2004 to the holy lakes Rakchyas Tal and Manasarobar Tal at the lap of Mt. Kailas in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. The event organized by Incentive Tours and Travels consisted of 528 devotees who gathered from all over the world.
At the IGC, she looks after the overall functioning of the administration and the branding of products to external stakeholders and companies. She also heads the IGC’s travel and tour affairs by designing special tour packages for various groups of international tourists of Incentive Travel and Tours.
Mrs. Lama is also the founder executive director of The Creation – School of Fashion Design, promoted by IGC, which provides knowledge about the latest international fashion design technology and trends.
